Microwave Update 2007 Surplus Tour Information

READ THIS FIRST TO AVOID DISAPPOINTMENT: The electronics surplus market in this area has been severely reduced. To avoid disappointment, check the websites of these potential sites or make a phone call to see what they have available before you get on the road. You may find that you are better off visiting local attractions than taking a long drive and finding few or no bargains.

Surplus Shed, 8408 Allentown Pike, Blandon. PA 19510. (1 hr away) CALL BEFORE YOU GO 1-877-778-7758. (1-877-7SURPLUS) They said they would accommodate visitors on Thursdays if called in advance. http://www.surplusshed.com/catalog/ss_catalog_s06_w.pdf Lots of optical stuff-great for the laser communications experimenter

Alltest (& Kentronix) 1310 ROLLER RD. OCEAN, NJ 07712 (1&1/2 hrs away) Recently Alltest bought Kentronix http://www.kentronix.com/index.htm http://www.alltest.us All sorts of electronics, takes credit cards-check website for price ranges. Alltest Instruments is a well-stocked test equipment vendor dealing in used test equipment from HP, Tektronix, etc. They carry a huge selection of RF test equipment - much of which is fairly new as far as ham standards (less than 10-15 years old)... some older stuff too. They are located in Ocean Township NJ, approximately 90 minutes from the MUD conference. Alltest does not normally have foot traffic but has made arrangements to be open for MUD surplus attendees from 9 AM to Noon, so if you're interested, you should plan on this being your first stop. WARNING: - Alltest serves the commercial microwave industry (read: there may or may not be bargains for hams!). If you wish to call ahead of time, ask for Nathan and mention the Surplus Tour if you have a specific piece you're looking for.

Joseph Fazzio, Inc Glassboro-2760 Glassboro-Cross Keys Road, Glassboro, New Jersey 08028 (50 min away) Steel, metals, hardware-check the website to see what they stock on 23 acres (856) 881-3185 http://www.josephfazzioinc.com/

Dillsburg Aeroplane Works 114 Sawmill Rd Dillsburg, PA. Phone: 717-432-4589. (1&1/2 hrs away) Aluminum tubing specialists. They do not have a website, but a phone call to their place can get all the special aluminum you want shipped to your home QTH. 12' lengths, they will cut in half for shipping.

Five other places have closed in the time that we were planning MUD. If you have additional information on potential spots for the surplus tour, please let us know with an email to: pdrexler@hotmail.com
